I am an agent of CNA Surety and I just purchased the book of business of another agency that has business with your Company. What information do I need to provide to you to transfer the business from that agency to my agency? You need to provide a copy of the purchase agreement (all pages) between you and the other agency or a letter signed by the seller of the other agency stating the agency or book of business was sold, to whom it was sold, and the effective date of the sale. If I am already appointed as a resident agent with your Company, why do I need to provide copies of my nonresident licenses? State regulations require that to bind coverage, solicit business, write a risk, or receive commissions for a particular state, an agent must be properly licensed and appointed for that state. If a bond/policy has been canceled, can it be reinstated? Depending on the reason for cancellation/nonrenewal and if the effective date of cancellation/nonrenewal of the bond/policy has not yet passed, you can submit a written request to our Company to reinstate the bond. We will then notify you whether or not your request has been accepted. If a bond/policy has been canceled for non-payment of premium, we will only consider reinstatement after we have received payment first. Even if the effective date of cancellation of the bond/policy has passed, you can still submit a written request for reinstatement to Underwriting for consideration; however, in these cases, a new bond with a current effective date may be considered instead. I am an agent of your Company. Can I view the bonds that I have in force currently through your Company online? We hope to have this functionality available soon, but for now, if you need a current in force listing, please contact us and we will provide one to you.
